Heidelberg is a very popular tourist destination and accommodations are available in most categories, ranging from an inexpensive youth hostel to five star hotels Participants are advised to make their reservations early.
We negotiated a special conference group rate for the Marriott Hotel, located just across the river from the conference venue in walking distance.
Booking at the discounted Chirality 2016 group rate has expired. Rooms might still be available at the Marriott Hotel at regular room rates.
Other Hotels can be booked via http://www.heidelberg-marketing.com/hotels/hotel-booking.html

We will have a shuttle-bus service between the Marriott hotel and the venue, ask for a schedule at the Marriott hotel or the conference venue. Otherwise it is a 15-20 min walk to the venue or two tram stops.
To get to old town we recommend a walk along the Neckar River (venue side, not hotel side, 2.5km/35min) or using the tram to Bismarckplatz (lower end of the main street) and bus from there to Universitäts Platz (middle/upper end of main street).
From Universitäts Platz it is only a short walk to the Bergbahn which leads to Heidelberg Castle and continues to the Königsstuhl (falconry, nature walk, view!).
There are cobblestones throughout the city – bring comfortable shoes.
